In September of 2020, the Texas Attorney General posted a revised version of the Landowner’s Bill of Rights, which under Texas Government Code Sec. 402.031 and Chapter 21 of the Texas Property Code must be provided to landowners any time an entity exercises its eminent domain authority. All district, water supply corporation, and municipal utilities must provide landowners with this bill of rights not later than the seventh day before making a final compensation offer to the landowner.
