Performs highly responsible professional, administrative and technical work involved in planning and directing the activities of the District. The General Manager is responsible for the overall goals, efficiency and effectiveness of the District. Manages the District by implementing and assuring compliance with policies of the Board of Directors; directs and coordinates financial controls, programs and practices; recommends policy and procedures concerning system operation and management. Responsible for long range and current planning, oversight of contract engineering projects, delegating day-to-day activities to supervisory staff, and performs unusual tasks which require a high degree of skill and technical knowledge. The General Manager exercises independent judgment and discretion on all technical matters within District guide lines set by the Board of Directors. Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in engineering, science, public administration, management or a closely related field; extensive professional utility supervision and administrative experience, preferably including experience in water and wastewater; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
