Operations Superintendent

Diamondhead Water & Sewer District is accepting applications for the position of Operations Superintendent. Position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water wells, sewage treatment plant, sewer pumping stations and related facilities. Applicant must have considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of municipal water and wastewater treatment operations and maintenance procedures; general administrative and management practices; local, state and federal regulatory requirements governing water and wastewater processes; and the ability to supervise and evaluate personnel, prepare and administer department budgets. Applicant must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Grade 3 MS WWT Certificate; Grade D MS Water Certificate; and MS Class B CDL (w/A.B.) Background check, physical and drug screening required.

Starting salary is commensurate with education and experience. Current salary range is $48,922-$64,552, plus benefits. E.O.E.

2 WATER QUALITY TECHNICIANS NEEDED!

SUMMARY: Responsible for the collection, testing, documentation, and the delivery of bacteriological, chlorine residual, trihalomethane and other analytical samples associated with the operation of a potable water supply. Works to ensure a safe drinking water supply is available to the citizens of Carrollton, as mandated by state law.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Performs business math, simple algebra, and elementary statistics in calculating amounts of chemicals to use, etc.
  • Reads and understands reference books and complicated procedures and manuals
  • Skilled in aligning and calibrating lab instruments
  • Knowledgeable in the use of field test equipment
  • Knowledgeable in the safe operation of pumps and motors; skilled in troubleshooting maintenance problems
  • Organizes work, maintaining a steady workflow; meets deadlines with little supervision
  • Skilled in the analysis of water samples, interpretation of math formulas for chemical dosages, etc.
  • Skilled in public/employee relations
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in confined space entry
  • Knowledge of computer software and data entry

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D and
  • Two years of water production experience.

  • Associates Degree and
  • One year of water production experience

The Emerald Bay Municipal Utility District has an immediate opening for a Water/Wastewater Lead Supervisor/Operator in Beautiful East Texas.

In addition to a 150k gal activated sludge plant; the District also operates a state of the art groundwater production system that went online in 2006.

The Community of Emerald Bay is an un-incorporated, private, gated golf course community located on Lake Palestine, 12 miles south of Tyler in Southern Smith County.

The successful candidate should have professional attitude and be committed to taking control of all District plant operations over a period of time. The ability to grow in the position, lead and train others, maintain good customer relations, and continue to improve technical knowledge is a must.

The candidate must have the following minimum required TCEQ licenses:
Class "C" Wastewater
Class "C" Groundwater

POSITION TO HIRE - Field Technician

Yancey Water Corporation is accepting applications for Field Technician. Position requires a working knowledge of construction practices and groundwater plant operations. Must perform a variety of duties to maintain and operate the water facilities, equipment, and the distribution system. Individual required to be on call on a rotating basis as assigned. Some weekend, holiday and after normal hours may be required in emergency situations. Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds and perform other strenuous labor as necessary.

A minimum of a high school diploma is required. Must possess at minimum a class D groundwater license and have the ability to obtain a class C within a year. Individual must live within 30 minutes of CCN and have a valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record, and obtain a class A CDL within 90 days of employment with YWSC. Ability to operate a backhoe a plus, but not required.
